OFBF and the Ohio CCA Program will present the Excellence in Crop Advising Award to a certified crop adviser who has performed superior service for farmer clients in nutrient management, soil and water management, integrated pest management and crop production.
Ohio’s winner will receive a plaque, recognition in publications and a $500 cash award and will be announced at the annual Farm Science Review in London, Ohio in September. In addition, certificates will be provided to county offices that participate in the Excellence in Crop Advising Awards program, allowing them to recognize nominees from their county.
“The Excellence in Crop Advising Award increases the awareness that farmers and their service people strive to do their best in not only making economically sound cropping decisions but also ones that are environmentally sound,” said OFBF Director of Policy Development and Environmental Research Larry Antosch. “With the increasing farm size, complexity of management options and increasingly complex regulations, we foresee farmers relying more and more on the advice of specialists who are Certified Crop Advisers.”
To be eligible, nominees must hold a current Ohio CCA certification and be in good standing, and at least one nominator must be a Farm Bureau member.
A nomination form and details are available at www.ofbf.org and should be sent to Ohio Farm Bureau, Attn: Jennifer Baldwin, P.O. Box 182383, Columbus, OH 43218-2383. Additional questions should be directed to Baldwin at 614-246-8289 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Nominations must be submitted by June 26.
