Swingle elected to Ohio Farm Bureau board

CINCINNATI, Ohio (OFBF) – Jim Swingle of Philo has been elected to the board of trustees for the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF).  As District 16 trustee, he will represent Farm Bureau members from Guernsey, Morgan, Muskingum and Perry counties.  Swingle will help govern the state’s largest general farm organization.

He fills the seat vacated by Joe Pittman who retired after six years on the board.

Swingle is a 40-year member of Muskingum County Farm Bureau, where he has served as president and trustee.  He produces beef and specialty crops.  He is retired from Zane State College where he was an assistant professor.  He is involved with Muskingum Hills Ruritan, Franklin Local school board, Lions Club, Muskingum County Planning Commission and St. John’s Lutheran Church.  Swingle received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wittenberg University and a master’s degree in guidance from Xavier University.  He and his wife, Gail, are the parents of two grown children.

Swingle was elected during the 91st annual meeting of OFBF, held Dec. 2-4 in Cincinnati.
