On March 6, Pickaway County Farm Bureau members enjoyed an evening at the Pickaway County YMCA. Their spring membership rally focused on wellness and safety. Members had exclusive use of the YMCA facilities for the evening including the swimming pool and gymnasium. In addition, the Pickaway County Farm Bureau also hosted a mini health fair presented by Berger Hospital that included relaxation massages and body fat screening.
The keynote speaker for the evening was Mike Estadt, Ag and Natural Resources Extension Education for Pickaway County OSU Extension. Estadt’s talk focused the hazards associated with exploding poly-tanks and a discussion about the proper use of the Slow Moving Vehicle (SMV) and SIS signs.
Members also talked about the importance of belonging to an organization such as Farm Bureau during a time when out-of-state animal rights activist groups want to hijack the Ohio constitution to impose extreme anti-farm measures on Ohio’s farm families.
