COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – “Solutions for Pestering Problems,” a troubleshooting and solution-based workshop for gardeners, will be held May 22, 2010 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bob Evans Farm in Rio Grande, Ohio.
“We created this event with the frustrated gardener in mind,” said Cara Lawson, promotion specialist for Ohio Farm Bureau and one of the coordinators for the event. “These sessions will help gardeners address and solve problems they may have faced with prior gardening experiences.”
Attendees will be rotated through four different breakout sessions including suiting your soils, tree treatment, groan-free gardening and weeds gone wild.
Cost to participate is $30 for Farm Bureau members and $50 for nonmembers, which includes all sessions, lunch and materials. The deadline to register is May 16. For more information and to register call 614-246-8276 or visit OurOhio.org.
The workshop is part of the Grow and Know series, presented by Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. Grow and Know encourages people to get back to basics with their land and food, and provides information on how to make the most of their property, whether it’s a patio downtown or 50 acres in Ohio’s countryside.
The vision of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation is to create a partnership between farmers and consumers. In addition to farmers, members include gardeners, food and wine enthusiasts, animal owners, and anyone who enjoys rural Ohio. For more information, or to join, visit GrowWithFB.org.
