DISCUSSION MEET This is NOT a panel discussion or debate but rather a formal version of what naturally happens through discussion. It is an exercise in cooperative problem solving, designed to give experience in leading group discussions and chairing committees. Please contact the local Farm Bureau office by July 2, 2010 if you are interested in applying. Call 1-800-260-3499 or via email at [email protected]. Questions for the first round, which will take place Aug. 21 and 22 are: Government has always been involved in agriculture. Is the current level of government involvement a net hindrance or a net benefit to agriculture? How will food movements such as “foodie” and “locavore”, which are focused primarily in urban centers, influence national agriculture production and federal programs? Farm Bureau is the leading voice for agriculture but not the only voice. How do we encourage other agricultural groups to work together for the common good of our industry?
