Hunters and Ohio Farmers

Editors Note: The HuntOhioFarms website and program is defunct. connects Ohio farmers with deer damage problems and responsible hunters looking for a place to hunt.

Here’s how it works. Hunters provide information about themselves, such as hunting preferences, availability, hunting implement of choice, etc. Then farmers search hunter profiles and find hunters that are a good match for their farm and circumstances.

This program is a joint venture of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and the Ohio Division of Wildlife, with support from Whitetails Unlimited and Quality Deer Management Association.

ODNR Hunting/Fishing/Trapping permission slips and regulations booklets are available at the Butler County Farm Bureau office at 2273 Millville-Oxford Rd., Hanover Township. Call the office at 513-844-8371 for more information.

Here’s my 2016 hunting “hail Mary”. I’m a Michigan resident with an Ohio deer tag that I would love to fill. I could come and hunt public land, but I thought i would try this. Is there a farmer that would allow me to hunt a few days between now and the end of the year. Here’s my story and I’m sticking to it. 44 yrs hunting public lands in MI and the best buck I got is a 7 pt with a 13″ spread. Yes, I’ve gotten smaller bucks and doe, and we do eat what we harvest, but I would like a chance at something bigger. I would even give the farmer the meat or donate to the needy. I can’t sit and watch sports on TV. I simply love to be outdoors and hunt. I’m a Christian. Grew up in a loving family, in a 4-way stop small farming community, and have a great respect and appreciation for landowners and their property. If anyone sees this and knows of a possibility, please contact me asap at 616-291-1303. Thanks in advance.
