Conversation to explore all sides of food production Sept. 16

Buckeye Farm News

Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) is continuing its collaborative discussion to identify opportunities for Ohio’s food system that will best meet the needs of the state’s farmers and consumers.

Sept. 16, OFBF will bring together people interested in adding their personal perspective to a dynamic conversation about food.

“Bringing it to the Table: Understanding Differences and Similarities on Common Ground” follows an idea conference held earlier this year that examined issues ranging from healthy school lunches to new food processing technologies designed to protect quality and reduce waste.

Regardless of individual passions and pursuits, OFBF believes everyone should have an opportunity to be heard and to listen. The organization is gathering insight from members of Ohio’s diverse food community to elevate the conversation about food production in a new way.

Participants will travel by bus to Sippel Family Farm CSA and Hord Livestock Co., Inc. followed by lunch and a discussion on the factors influencing food production.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m and conclude at 3 p.m.
