COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Cara Lawson has been promoted to director of community engagement for the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). She will be responsible for OFBF’s education and marketing initiatives aimed at building closer ties among Farm Bureau members and the public.
Lawson joined Ohio Farm Bureau in 2006 as promotion specialist. She has excelled at managing several significant Farm Bureau projects including the successful Land and Living display at the Ohio State Fair, which annually connects thousands of consumers with Ohio agriculture. She also has established a series of “Grow and Know” events that allow nonfarmers to experience various aspects of the agricultural industry. She also has helped develop partnerships between Farm Bureau and Ohio companies such as Velvet Ice Cream Company and Longaberger Company. Prior to joining Farm Bureau, Lawson graduated from Ohio State University.
“Cara has done a tremendous job for Farm Bureau and our county organizations,” according to Pat Petzel, OFBF vice president, communications. “I know she’s going to create even greater Farm Bureau experiences for our members and the public.”
