COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Dan Toland has been promoted to director of digital strategy for the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). He will be responsible for developing OFBF’s social media and Web strategies and tactics and for helping Farm Bureau members use social media to connect with each other and consumers.
Toland joined Ohio Farm Bureau in 2007 as a communications specialist, reporting and writing for the organization’s Our Ohio magazine and Buckeye Farm News newspaper. He has helped lead the organization’s development of social media programming and has become a nationally recognized leader in agriculture’s use of the medium. Prior to joining Farm Bureau he wrote for Farm World and The National Tractor Pullers Association. He is a graduate of Ohio State University.
“Social media is a tremendous tool for our organization and its members,” said Pat Petzel, OFBF vice president, communications. “Dan’s knowledge and enthusiasm is going to help us make this form of communication an even more important part of what we do at Farm Bureau.”
