Sparky Weilnau of Milan has been elected first vice president of Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF), the second highest elected office in the state’s largest general farm organization. He also was re-elected trustee for District 3 and will continue to represent members from Cuyahoga, Erie, Huron and Lorain counties. Weilnau served as first vice president from 2004 – 2006, then was re-elected to the position this past April during a special election of OFBF’s board of trustees. Previously he served as Treasurer from 2001 – 2003. He has served as a trustee since 1996. Weilnau produces popcorn, field corn, soybeans and wheat. He is a 35-year member of the Erie County Farm Bureau and served in various leadership roles. Additionally Weilnau was a county commissioner, township trustee and is a member of the Erie County Planning Commission. He and his wife, Catherine, are the parents of two sons.
