Ohio’s county Farm Bureaus are already up and rolling with plenty to do at the local level in 2012. Annual membership campaigns are kicking off (you can always join Ohio Farm Bureau or renew your dues right here at OFBF.org as well), informational meetings about oil and gas exploration and leasing, farm taxes and more are on the agenda, and there are plenty of social events, workshops and other Farm Bureau activities to tend to across the state.

Jan. 24 – Wayne County Farm Bureau invites you to the 2012 Shearer Equipment John Deere Day at the OARDC Fisher Autidorium and Shisler Conference Center in Wooster
Feb. 13 – Catch up on the latest care standards affecting all livestock and poultry owners in Ohio at this regional Ohio Livestock Care Standards update meeting
Feb. 16 – Guernsey County Farmland Tax Workshop – The tax implications of oil and gas lease royalty payments will be discussed at this meeting in Buffalo, Ohio. Pre-registration required.
Feb. 25 – Young Farmer Night at Perfect North Slopes – Hit the slopes for a night of snow tubing fun with young farmers at Perfect North Slopes in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Space limited RSVP by Feb. 20.
March 9-10 – Young Ag Professional Winter Leadership Conference – Mahoning County Farm Bureau reminds Young Agricultural Professionals throughout the state to register for the annual Young Ag Professionals Winter Leadership Conference.
March 16-18 – Mercer County Agriculture: Through the Lens – Mercer County Farm Bureau presents the “Through the Lens” photo presentation, a cooperative effort between Farm Bureau and the Grand Lake Photo Club and presented at the St. Charles Center in Carhagena. Featuring photos of Mercer County farms, animals and families and highlighting the agrarian heritage of the area. Free event.
OIL & GAS EXPLORATION AND LEASING INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS
As natural gas and oil exploration continues to increase across Ohio, many landowners and farmers are being asked to lease their land for this purpose. Learn what you need to know before entertaining any of these offers/deals from Ohio Farm Bureau Director of Energy Policy Dale Arnold at these regional meetings.
