Farm Bureau would like to invite local farmers, livestock haulers and veterinarians to attend a meeting on the new Ohio Livestock Standards on Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. at the K of C Hall, 8440 St.Rt. 47, Versailles.
The speaker for the night will be Dr. Tony Forshey, state verterinarian, who will provide an overview of the state’s new livestock care standards. The meeting is open to the public and there will be an opportunity to ask questions about the new rules.
Ohio’s livestock care standards affect everyone raising or caring for one or more animals raised for human food or fiber, and anyone raising or caring for equine animals in the state. These rules apply to the following animals: diary, beef, swine, turkeys, broilers, sheep, goats, aplacas, llamas and horses.
