The Fairfield, Licking and Perry County Farm Bureaus would like to invite local farmers, livestock haulers, veterinarians and the public to attend a meeting on the new Livestock Standards March 20 at 7p.m. at the Fairfield Union High School, 6401 Cincinnati Zanesville Rd. NE Lancaster. There will be a presentation and an update of the state’s new livestock care standards.
The meeting is open to the public and there will be an opportunity to ask questions about the new rules. This event is free for Farm Bureau members and $10 for non-members.
Ohio’s livestock care standards affect everyone raising or caring for one or more animals raised for human food or fiber, and anyone raising or caring for equine animals in the state. These rules apply to the following animals: dairy, beef, swine, turkeys, broilers, sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas, and horses.
