The Pickaway and Ross County Farm Bureaus would like to invite local farmers, livestock haulers, veterinarians and the public to attend a meeting on the new Livestock Standards March 22 at 7p.m. at the Pickaway-Ross Career and Technical Center. The speaker for the night will be Dr. Leah Dorman, DVM, Director of Food Programs at Ohio Farm Bureau. She will provide an update of the state’s new livestock care standards.
The meeting is open to the public and there will be an opportunity to ask questions about the new rules. This event is free for Farm Bureau members and $10 for non-members.
Ohio’s livestock care standards affect everyone raising or caring for one or more animals raised for human food or fiber, and anyone raising or caring for equine animals in the state. These rules apply to the following animals: dairy, beef, swine, turkeys, broilers, sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas, and horses.
