Cuyahoga and Lorain County Farm Bureaus invite you to join us for a family fun day on Saturday, July 14 for a scenic train ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad as we travel to Hale Farm and Village. The train will depart from the Rockside Train Station in Independence (7900 Old Rockside Rd., Independence) at 9 a.m. While on board the train you can immerse yourself in the stories and sounds of the Cuyahoga Valley through the voices of the valley audio tour. You will hear tales about the earliest settlement of the valley, the coming of the Ohio and Erie Canal and Valley Railway, the creation of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the return of wildlife and much more.
Upon arrival at Hale Farm and Village you can tour the farm on your own and then board the train at 2:30 p.m. for a 2:50 departure back to the Rockside Train Station. Arrival back at the train station will be at 3:40 p.m. A box lunch can be purchased for the trip.
Costs for this fun filled adventure are as follows:
Farm Bureau member price: Adults and seniors $20, youths ages 3-17 $15, children 2 years & under are free
Non-Farm Bureau member price: Adults and seniors $30, youths ages 3-17 $25, children 2 years & under are free
Optional box lunch is $7 per person
