An Invitation to a Soil Forum – Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 – 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Cuyahoga SWCD Office-Training Room 6100 West Canal Road, Valley View
This discussion about “brown infrastructure” has direct implications for much of the agricultural and storm water efforts currently underway in the county. The goal of this forum presented by Cuyahoga Soil and Water Conservation District is to help increase the understanding about how above ground applications can transform soil within a short period of time to better help urban land practices. NRCS Agronomist Mark Scarpetti and Jay Brandt from Walnut Creek Seed will illustrate how healthy soils look and function. Their demonstrations will further highlight how some land practices actually damage soils and how restored soils can benefit urban agriculture, high intensity landscaping and plant-soil storm water best management practices taking place in Cuyahoga County.
Seating is limited. Please respond to Jan Rybka at 216-524-6580, ext. 13 or by email at [email protected].
