COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Jim Swingle of Philo has been re-elected to the board of trustees for the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). Having served as District 16 trustee for the past three years, he will continue to represent Farm Bureau members from Guernsey, Morgan, Muskingum and Perry counties. Swingle will help govern the state’s largest and most inclusive farm organization.
Swingle is a 43-year member of Muskingum County Farm Bureau, where he has served as president and trustee. He produces beef and specialty crops. He is retired from Zane State College where he was an assistant professor. He is involved with Muskingum Hills Ruritan, Franklin Local school board, Lions Club, Muskingum County Planning Commission and St. John’s Lutheran Church. Swingle received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wittenberg University and a master’s degree in guidance from Xavier University. He and his wife, Gail, are the parents of two grown children.
Swingle was re-elected during the 94th annual meeting of OFBF, held Nov. 28-30 in Columbus. During the meeting, Farm Bureau delegates established policy on a variety of agricultural, environmental, economic and social issues.
