COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Cy Prettyman of New Bloomington has been elected to the board of trustees for the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). He will represent the members of District 7, which includes Crawford, Marion, Morrow and Richland counties. He will help govern Ohio’s largest and most inclusive farm organization. Prettyman fills the seat formerly held by Don Ralph of Morral who retired after nine years on the board.
Prettyman farms with his parents, Joe and Janet, raising corn, soybeans and cattle for freezer beef. He also is a sales specialist with Purina Animal Nutrition. He is a 15-year member of Marion County Farm Bureau, having served as its president, and also is active in the county’s communications, membership and public policy work. Along with Farm Bureau, Prettyman is active with the Ohio Agribusiness Association, local and state Pork Producers Councils and Ohio Cattlemen’s Association. He earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Ohio State University. He and his wife, Julie, are the parents of daughter Lauren and son Tyler. They are members of LaRue United Methodist Church.
Prettyman was elected during OFBF’s 94th annual meeting, held Nov. 28-30 in Columbus. During the meeting, Farm Bureau delegates established policy on a variety of agricultural, environmental, economic and social issues.
