The Animals for Life Foundation (AFL) is accepting grant proposals from organizations planning programs that promote its mission pillars of animal care, animal use and the human-animal bond.
All applicants must convey how they will support AFL’s mission and vision of promoting beneficial human-animal relationships, as well as how they will achieve the following three goals:
- Create awareness and acceptance of the mutually beneficial human-animal bond while helping the public understand and appreciate the value of animals in their lives;
- Increase public awareness and confidence that farmers properly care for their animals and do not condone the mistreatment of farm animals, and
- Recognize the value of all animals in today’s society.
Since the establishment of AFL in 2009, the foundation has awarded more than $106,000 in grants to 20 different recipients. Grant recipients in 2012 included Valley Oaks Farm, Ayars Family Farm, Equine Assisted Therapy, Geauga County Farm Bureau, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, Hastings Dairy Tours & Events, Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center, 4 Paws for Ability, Pets Uniting People Society, Reading Education Assistance Dogs and Wayne County Farm Bureau.
All proposals must include the following components: budget, project objectives, project relationship to the AFL mission, vision and goals, measurable project milestones, project team members and project partnerships.
