Carroll County board connects with Community Councils

While local councils had always been there to give input to the Carroll County Farm Bureau, county president Bill Findley believes there is now more opportunity to bring everyone together to work on issues in the community.

“We’ve got a pretty good group of people in Carroll County,” he said. “There’s a wealth of knowledge.”

Carroll County Farm Bureau recently held a dinner in which it invited all Community Councils to learn about the activities the board had planned for the year and to brainstorm new ways they could work together.

“Between the two groups I think we can be a lot more innovative in the things we can do,” Findley said.

He said by next year, he hopes at least half of the board’s ideas will come from Community Councils.

“For us, as the board, it doubles our potential volunteers.  And they’re going to come across stuff that we haven’t even thought of,” he said. “It’s going to be a lot better.  It’s togetherness.  It’s a team. Not one over the other.”
