Students at Bryden Elementary School in Beachwood, Ohio will incubate duck eggs as part of their Living Things science unit thanks to a generous grant from the Cuyahoga Farm Bureau to purchase an incubator for their science lab. Kindergarten, first, and second-grade students will watch embryos develop in April and see baby runner ducklings hatch in early May. “These ducks stand almost completely upright and are very comical looking when they run”, science resource teacher Michelle Leizman said. “Beachwood’s budding scientists cannot wait to see the embryos in the eggs grow and change.”
Weekly updates, once the eggs arrive, will be posted on facebook/CuyahogaFarmBureau.
