Another Successful Grow and Know Event for Butler County

Butler County Farm Bureau hosted another Grow and Know Event, Growing and Cooking With Herbs on May 8. More than 45 people were at the event held at Brown’s Family Farm Market south of Ross. Speakers for the evening were Jody (Brown) Boyd; Greenhouse Manager for Brown’s Family Farm Market and Angela Lampe; OSU Extension Master Gardener.

Attendees learned techniques to growing herbs and tasted wonderful samples with information on cooking with herbs, harvesting and preversing herbs.

A big THANK-YOU to Jody Boyd and Brown’s Family Farm Market for hosting the event and Angela Lampe for all the wonderful samples and recipes. Both ladies put a lot of time and effort into this event. Thanks to Judy Krautter for her help assisting during the event. Thank-you to Brown’s Family Farm Market for the tomato paring knife for each attendee as well as the 1/2 off on herbs plants purchased that evening. Thanks to Angela Lampe for donations to the event. Butler County Farm Bureau also provided “goodie bags” for each attendee.

Carol Dennison, Communications Action Team Leader for Butler County Farm Bureau is already working on plans for the next Grow and Know event to be held this fall. Another great job Carol with the Grow and Know series making Butler County proud!
