The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation has named the newest members of its Young Agricultural Professionals Advisory Team: Nathan and Jennifer Brown of Hillsboro, Andy and Danielle Burch of Salem, Brad Heimerl of Johnstown and Greg and Janet McGlinch of Versailles. As team members serving two year terms, they will help develop and conduct activities that provide opportunities for young people to become involved in Ohio Farm Bureau programs.
Greg and Janet McGlinch operate a grain farm with Greg’s parents where they raise hogs, chickens and eggs for local customers. Greg also is employed by the Darke County Soil and Water Conservation District and Janet works at Honda of America. Greg has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education from Ohio State University and a master’s degree in agronomy from Iowa State University, and Janet has a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from Wright State University and a master’s in industrial engineering from Purdue University. Both have been very active in Darke County Farm Bureau, Greg as a board member, and both have participated in various Ohio Farm Bureau activities. Greg was also the 2012 Young Agricultural Professionals Excellence in Agriculture award winner.
Ohio Farm Bureau’s Young Agricultural Professionals program is open to individuals and married couples between the ages of 18-35 who are interested in improving the business of agriculture, learning new ideas and developing leadership skills.
