If you aren’t riding, you might want to be watching… as 150 horses and riders plus carriages and wagons converge on downtown Cleveland on Saturday, September 14, 2013 for a fundraising ride for the Cleveland Mounted Police Unit (CMPU). The best viewing area for the ride will be along Lakeside from East 9th to West 3rd and at Public Square. The ride starts at 10:00 a.m. from the Cleveland Municipal parking lot off East 9th Street and returns to the same location for a ‘tailgate’ party with music by the ‘Two of Us’, food trucks, demonstrations by the CMPU, CMPU merchandise for sale and opportunity for photos with the CMPU horses. The general public is welcome to join in the ‘tailgate’ party starting at 11:30 a.m. Join us for a great day in support of the Cleveland Mounted Police Unit.
The Cuyahoga County Farm Bureau Equine Community Council is a proud sponsor of this event.
Over 200 riders and another 30 or so people on wagons pulled by horses rode through the streets of downtown Cleveland. It was a site to behold, and a surprise to those who just happened to be downtown on other business.
Ride photos can be viewed on the Cuyahoga Farm Bureau facebook page.
