Sparky Weilnau of Milan has been re-elected first vice president of Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF), the second highest elected office in the state’s largest and most influential farm organization. He serves on OFBF’s board of trustees for District 3, representing members from Cuyahoga, Erie, Huron and Lorain counties.
Weilnau produces popcorn, field corn, soybeans and wheat. He is a 37-year member of Erie County Farm Bureau and has served in various leadership roles. Additionally, Weilnau was an Erie County commissioner, township trustee and is a member of the Erie County Planning Commission. He and his wife, Catherine, are the parents of two sons.
Weilnau was re-elected during the 95th annual meeting of OFBF, held Dec. 4 to 6 in Columbus. During the meeting, Farm Bureau delegates established policy on a variety of agricultural, environmental, economic and social issues.
