Tony Seegers, OFBF director of State Policy will provide the latest information about SB 150.
SB 150 would make the following changes to the Ohio Revised Code:
· Requires a person who applies fertilizer on 50 or more contiguous acres for purposes of agricultural production to obtain a fertilizer applicator certification issued by the Ohio Department of Agriculture;
· Requires the certification education program be generally practical and economically feasible and educates applicants about the 4Rs;
· Allows for a private or commercial pesticide applicator who wants to obtain a fertilizer applicator certification to go through the training when renewing the pesticide license without extra charge;
· Requires records to be maintained by the certified person applying fertilizer.
