Burkett Elected Farm Bureau First Vice President

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Frank Burkett III of Massillon has been elected first vice president of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF).

Burkett holds the second highest elected office in Ohio’s largest and most inclusive farm organization. He will help guide Farm Bureau’s efforts to fulfill its mission of building a partnership between farmers and consumers.

He will continue to serve as District 9 trustee representing members from Columbiana, Mahoning, Portage and Stark counties. He originally joined the OFBF board in 2007 and has served as the group’s treasurer since 2011.

Burkett fills the position formerly held by Sparky Weilnau of Milan. Weilnau stepped down in order to stand for election to the board of directors for Nationwide.

Burkett is a long-time member of the Stark County Farm Bureau where he was a board trustee, policy development chairman and farm tour chairman. He is a past board member for Ohio Dairy Producers Association and is a member of Rivertree Christian Church.

Burkett, in partnership with three uncles, co-owns and manages Clardale Farms, Inc., a dairy and crop farm. He received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Ohio State University with a major in agricultural systems management and a minor in agricultural economics.
