Crawford County Farm Bureau is expanding its presence at the Crawford County Fair.
In 2014, the Whetstone Building will be revitalized to provide an interactive agricultural education area. Farm Bureau aims to reach fair guests with a positive message about agriculture in our community, state, and nation.
Fairgoers will enjoy several new activities at this year’s fair. Hands-on activities such as digital computer games, life-size model animals, and trivia games will allow guests to learn more about agriculture around them. A large television screen will broadcast movies about today’s food and fiber. Partner organizations, such as the Crawford County Humane Society and Crawford County Soil and Water Conservation District will staff displays and provide scheduled demonstrations.
In addition to the exciting activities in the Whetstone Building, Farm Bureau is also sponsoring a photo of the day contest. Fairgoers can tag photos they take with the hashtag, #FBattheFair on social media. The photos will stream on a computer display in the Whetstone Building, where winners will be selected each day. Visit the Whetstone Building to learn each day’s theme.
Finally, Farm Bureau is proud to sponsor the fair rodeo on Monday, July 14. Like Crawford County Farm Bureau on Facebook and look for ticket giveaways. Lucky rodeo attendees can even win Farm Bureau prizes.
