DP & L has proposed an electric transmission line from the Eldean Substation to the West Milton Substation. We have had several questions in our office about rights of the landowners that these lines will affect. Miami County Farm Bureau members are invited to attend a special Energy Issues Briefing on electric transmission line construction projects, at the Troy Public Library Sept. 3 at 10 am.
Although eminent domain provisions apply in many utility construction projects, rural residents across Ohio are discovering that many provisions of a transmission line easement are still negotiable. Ohio has a uniform, statewide process that helps residents and local governments get involved in utility construction projects located throughout the state.
During this briefing, Dale Arnold, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) Director for Energy Services, will discuss what landowners need to consider in negotiating easement settlements with energy service providers. Also, the session will cover Ohio’s regulatory process concerning utility construction and how residents can get involved in the Ohio Power Sighting Board (OPSB) Local Hearing Process.
If this transmission line will affect you please plan to attend this meeting. To RSVP call the Miami County Farm Bureau office byat 335-1471.
