Ross County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting

The Ross County Farm Bureau’s 96th Annual Meeting was held Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 at the Brick in Frankfort with a Meet and Greet/Candidate’s Reception at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.  Adam Garman gave the invocation.  Approximately 97 people were in attendance.  President Mark Crosier thanked Patty Kruger of the Brick for a delicious meal!

Mark thanked the Farm Factor families:  Ron and Nancy Ratliff, Dave and Wanda Williams, Brian and Megan Brumfield, John and Janice Weaver and Gabe and Tara Weaver.  These hosts made Farm Factor a wonderful event!  Mark said it is a blessing to be a part of Farm Factor and we have received statewide press in Farm World and Country Journal.

Christa Crosier presented the scholarships to Andrew Corcoran and Grant Cory.  Andrew is a recent graduate of Zane Trace High School and will attend the Ohio State University majoring in Computer Science Engineering.  He is the son of Dennis and Laura Corcoran.  Grant is a recent graduate of Adena High School and will attend the Ohio State University majoring in Agricultural Systems Management.  He is the son of Joe and Terri Cory.  Grant was not able to attend as he had already started classes so his Mother, Terri accepted on his behalf.  She said Grant really appreciates the scholarship.  Both Andrew and Grant received a $500 check compliments of the RCFB.  Congratulations Andrew and Grant!  Mark congratulated the award winners and stated that both were also winners at the state level.  He also reminded everyone about the recent death of last year’s scholarship recipient, Adam Sharp.  Adam was killed in a boating accident.  Mark asked that we think of his family during this tragedy.

Retiring President Mark Crosier installed Greg Garman as the new RCFB President.  He presented Greg with the gavel and Greg presented Mark with the past president pin and a gift card.  Greg talked about Mark’s vision of Farm Factor which had a huge impact on our state.  Greg thanked Mark for all his work.

President Greg Garman said all the policies passed.  The nominees for the board:  Stephen Cory, Lauri Cook and Christa Crosier were voted in and the delegates to the OFBF Annual Meeting:  Mike Anderson, Delma Rouleau, Ray Wells, Dwight Beery as alternate (Greg Garman secures a seat as President) were voted in.  Two write-ins for board trustees were:  Josh Roberts and Greg Corcoran.
