The Fairfield County Farm Bureau teamed up with the Lancaster Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce, Fairfield Soil and Water and the Ohio State University Extension in Fairfield to host the 2014 “A Taste of Fairfield County Agriculture.” Over 400 people visited the event held on Sept. 4 at JD Power Equipment in Lancaster. The Fairfield County Farm Bureau held an event similar to the Food Network program “Chopped.” Three seniors from the Eastland Career Technical Center Culinary Program had the opportunity to cook from a basket filled with a variety of locally grown produce and products. The winner of the cookoff was Paola Aguilar. JD Equipment had equipment available so visitors could experience sitting in the cab of a combine, tractor and more. Local vendors set up to give samples of local grown produce.
Today, it doesn't matter if you grow food or purchase it, Ohio Farm Bureau invites you to work with your neighbors to enhance the quality of life in your community and celebrate the unique ways agriculture touches our lives.Become a Member
