Marion County Farm Bureau annual meeting was held Thursday evening, Aug. 28 at All Occasions Catering and Banquet Facility at 6989 Waldo Delaware Road, Waldo with 95 members, and guests present. Delaware County Farm Bureau held their meeting at the same location.
Prior to the dinner, a Candidates’ Reception was held with Delaware County Farm Bureau members and several political candidates from both counties..
Our menu included pit roasted pork, marinated beef, white cheddar mac and cheese, baked potato bar, tossed salad, rolls and butter, apple cobbler, iced tea, lemonade, and water.
President Mike Ralph conducted business meeting. Minutes of last years meeting were presented as well as the financial statement for the past year. The policy resolutions for 2015 were presented by Karl Wedemeyer, Public Policy Team leader. Tim Hicks, Organization Director, gave a report of the programs completed in the last year. Mike recognized the board members.
Elected to the board were: Elizabeth Bender, Scott Carter, Lynn Clabaugh, Chris Dunn, Robert Gracely, and Tim Wood.
Delegates elected to serve at the 2015 Ohio Farm Bureau Annual meeting are John Hafer, Scott Isler, and Ben McKinniss.
Mike recognized our corporate members: Central Ohio Farmers Co-op, Morral Companies, Ohigor, Crop Production Services, Poet Refining-Marion, Green Camp Veterinary Clinic, EE Johnson and Johnson Property Services, NACHURS, and M & W Farm Supply. Their support means a lot to our organization.
A video presentation of the two men from Marion county elected to the Ohio Agriculture Hall of Fame- Don Ralph of Morral and John Watkins of Prospect was shown.
Cy Prettyman, District 7 Representative on the Ohio Farm Bureau Board of Trustees reported on recent events of the state organization.
Door Prizes were presented to several folks.
