Homegrown, Rick Wyatt

Ohio Farm Bureau and Nationwide have a history built on cooperation.  Nationwide was founded by Ohio farmers who believed in working together for their community. Today, we continue a strong partnership based on this belief.

Why do you work for Nationwide? Members are first: You need to be there when they need you. Nationwide protects families 100 percent. That’s what I value in my job. I learned from the best. In 1998, Nationwide took the chance and gave me the opportunity to be my own principal agent. My dad Ken, who was a Nationwide agent showed me the Nationwide way and worked from the ground level just like me, and my wife Kim and I have built and continued the Wyatt Insurance name that has now been serving the southwest Ohio community for over 50 years.

Tell us about the place where you live. We have three office locations, all in southwest Ohio. I live in Springboro in Warren County. Springboro is a close-knit community, a smaller community with good schools. I’ve been a youth sports coach and our business allows me to get involved in community youth programs.

What values do the people in your community share? Family values. Our members are hard workers; they understand the value of the land. You can see the community’s family values in the schools and the growth in the community. Warren County is one of the fastest growing counties in the state. Our leadership here makes good decisions for the community. We’ve been in the community since 1998.

How do you continually provide the On Your Side experience to members? I’m very hands-on as the owner of the agency. We reach out to every member in the agency and offer an On Your Side Review. We try to keep members updated on any changes in the insurance market. I pride my agency on that. A member’s time of need is when the agency needs to be available and a major life changing event is when you know how good your company and agency is. We go above and beyond.

Other than insurance, why would you encourage someone to be a Farm Bureau member? I see what Farm Bureau does at the local level, giving back with scholarships, working with schools and at the fairs. Farm Bureau is a way to get involved in the community. You can belong to an organization that speaks for your community.

Ohio Farm Bureau is a sponsor of Nationwide and endorses Nationwide policies, many of which are discounted for members of Ohio Farm Bureau. Please ask a nearby agent for more details, or visit Nationwide’s website for Farm Bureau members
