COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Bill Waddle of Springfield was elected District 14 trustee for the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) Dec. 12 during the group’s annual meeting. This is his first three-year term. As a trustee, he will help govern the state’s largest general farm organization and represent Farm Bureau members from Champaign, Clark, Darke and Miami counties.
Waddle is a retired farmer and currently is a real estate agent/broker and owns Bill Waddle Auctioneering. He has been a Clark County Farm Bureau member for more than 40 years and previously served on Clark County Farm Bureau’s board of trustees, served as membership campaign chairman and on the Springfield’s Global Impact STEM Academy committee. He and his wife Sharon were Ohio Farm Bureau’s Outstanding Young Farm Couple for the southwest region in 1979 and served on the Ohio Farm Bureau State Farmer Committee. They have been members of Kith and Kin Advisory Council for 42 years.
In addition to Farm Bureau activities, he has been active in Jaycees, Greenon School Board, Springfield Chamber of Commerce and St. John’s Lutheran Church. He has been a 4-H adviser, a 35-year member of the Clark County Fair sales committee and vice president of the fair board. He served on the Producers Livestock board and was board president.
The Waddles are parents of five grown children and have eight grandchildren.
