WHY: Some developers are contacting landowners to conduct surveys and environmental evaluations across farm ground. Other developers are scheduling area meetings and open houses. Depending on the size and scope of individual projects, government agencies are scheduling local hearings and scoping meetings as part of their construction approval and permitting process.OFBF Director of Energy, Utility and Local Government Policy, Dale Arnold will brief community stakeholders on the work of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) and other regulatory agencies governing pipeline development. Energy market trends, pipeline construction and remediation standards, eminent domain, farmland preservation, legal counsel as well as what landowners should consider in negotiating effective easement agreements with pipeline developers will be discussed.
