A Classic Tale of Protecting What Matters

Tom Harp of Ross County has a collection of 220 antique International Harvester tractors to admire. So when he needed an insurance company that would share his passion and admiration, he turned to Hagerty, the global leader in classic vehicle insurance. Harp also has been a Nationwide customer since 1975 and is a prime example of why Nationwide introduced a new partnership with Hagerty in 2014.

“We wanted to offer our members a better experience,” said Kurt Ely, vice president of strategic partnerships at Nationwide. “Our friends at Hagerty know classic vehicle insurance better than anyone else, but more importantly, they share the same commitment to their customers as we do. Those factors made the partnership a natural fit.”

Through its partnership with Hagerty, Nationwide offers insurance for classic cars, vintage motorcycles and of course, antique tractors. Customers like Harp also get access to claims representatives who are trained in the art of classic vehicle repairs.

Harp is a retired school administrator turned farmer who showcases his passion at his 1,000 acre farm. His collection features tractors spanning from 1939 through 1976. He and his family have hosted visitors to the farm to see the tractors for the past two years as part of the Ross County Farm Bureau’s Farm Factor progressive dinner, as well as when the Red Poer Round Up summer show was in Ohio last year.
