Two Equine Educational learning opportunities for you to consider:
First, Veterinarians from Miamitown Pet Hospital and Agri-Pet Veterinary Services are partnering together to bring you “Ask the Veterinarian” onfrom being held at the beautiful Fernald Preserve. This relaxed fun program is back by popular demand and is your night to hear what interests you by asking the panel your equine questions! (see the attached flyer)
Directions to Fernald Preserve
Located in northwestern Hamilton County, the Fernald Preserve, 7400 Willey Rd, Harrison, Ohio (513-648-4899) is between Ross and Miamitown, just off Rt 128. It is 3 miles east of Crosby Community Center on Willey Road where most HCOHC meetings are held.
From the north, find your way to Ross and Rt 128. Continue south on Rt 128 about 4 miles and turn right on Willey Rd. The Fernald entrance is a quarter mile on your right. Follow long driveway to the Visitors Center.
From further north or east and using the interstates, get to I-275, exit at Blue Rock Rd (which is 2 miles west of Northgate/Colerain Ave). Same directions if going west on Cross County Highway. Turn right (west) on Blue Rock, after 3 miles cross the Miami River at New Baltimore, and continue west another mile (the road changes to New Haven) to the stop light at Rt 128. Turn right, then after 1 mile turn left on Willey.
Secondly, Instructor Chris Deffinger of Diamond Oaks Equine Sciences and Management Program is looking for a pregnant mare for the Equine Sciences and Management students to “foal out” this spring at Diamond Oaks Career and Development Campus. Your mare, just like the other mares before yours will provide a learning opportunity for the Equine Sciences and Management Program students. If interested please contact:
