April 30 – CAUV Updates and Oil & Gas Issues

Ohio State University Extension in Belmont County, Belmont County Farm Bureau, and the Belmont County Auditor’s office will offer a CAUV workshop for landowners April 30, 2015 at the Ohio University Eastern Theatre, Shannon Hall, 1st Floor, 45425 National Road, St. Clairsville, OH  from 7-9 p.m.

Larry Gearhardt will be the featured speaker. Gearhardt is currently an Extension Field Specialist in Taxation in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University. He serves as the Director of The Ohio State University Tax Schools and is an Assistant Professor at the University. Gearhardt will discuss the process of the CAUV program in regards to the state regulation of the program. He will be able to answer many questions about the program at the state level as it applies to landowners all over the state.  Specific county issues will also be addressed by Belmont County Auditor Andrew Sutak and his Administrative Assistant Larry Craig.  The speakers will address the possible changes to CAUV and the impacts of oil and gas development to the agricultural use of the land.

This workshop will be a chance to have your CAUV questions answered by experts on the subject matter at both the state and county level.
