Fayette County Farm Bureau receives grant for water quality initiative

Fayette County Farm Bureau received a grant from Ohio Farm Bureau for its Canoe Watershed Tour. Exploring a watershed through a canoe tour is a unique, family-oriented approach toward learning about water quality. Fayette County Farm Bureau is working with Fayette County Soil and Water Conservation District to provide a watershed educational workshop at the end of the canoe tour to highlight what makes water quality so important: most of the watershed goes through agricultural land, so explaining the relationship will be critical.

Ohio Farm Bureau has invested $98,000 in member funds to support county Farm Bureau projects that address agriculture’s role in Ohio’s water quality challenges. The Water Quality Initiative Program supports collaborative projects that advance Ohio Farm Bureau’s goal of enhancing water quality and food production.
