County Fair Fun: Whetstone Building & Beyond!

Crawford County Farm Bureau is excited to once again host the Farm Bureau Fun & Education Center in the Whetstone Building.

In 2015, we will premier the winning entry from our Ag Literacy Challenge: a life-sized board game designed by Sarah Lehner of Delaware, Ohio. The game has farming scenarios where players will receive or lose tokens, or helping hands, based on what happens “on the farm.” This will be a great addition to our interactive agricultural education area which will again feature Buckeye Bessie and the Minute to Win It games. There will also be a Scavenger Hunt across the fairgrounds, so look get your questions sheet and look for the signs as you tour the 2015 Crawford County fair! Look for one of our county fair Ambassadors to claim your scavenger hunt prize, play games and answer questions.

Farm Bureau aims to reach fair guests with a positive message about agriculture in our community, state, and nation and to provide a memorable experience for fairgoers. We are looking for volunteers to help interact with visitors from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Saturday.

Primary duties:

  • Provide a family-friendly attraction that will generate positive conversations about the Crawford County Fair
  • Instill a better understanding of modern agriculture in fair-goers
  • Build relationships with Farm Bureau members and the non-farming public
  • Answer fair-goers questions and serve as a building host
  • Cooperate with our Farm Bureau interns to ensure the displays are well-supplied, the building stays clean, and visitors are having a worthwhile and encouraging experience

If you can help us for an evening, feel free to stop by the Whetstone Building and join in the fun!
