Growing Success Part 2 … Unlocking the secrets in the soil

Join us to explore soil health, soil fertility, and using cover crops to increase vegetable crop production on your urban or small farm.

On Saturday, September 26, 2015 Steve Baker, State Soil Scientist with NRCS, will talk about soil health, soil testing and how to read a soil test analysis.  Jim Hoorman, Extension Educator, OSU Extension will share the value of cover crops and Eric Schwab, an agronomist for USDA-NRCS will present resource management systems for vegetable production.

Doors open at 9:00 a.m with light refreshments and the program will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:00 p.m.

Growing Success Part 2 will be held at Stearns Homestead, a historic farm in Parma, Ohio.
