Discussion Meet applications due Nov. 2

Ohio Farm Bureau’s Young Agricultural Professionals are accepting entries for the 2016 Discussion Meet contest. Entry forms are due Nov. 2.

The Discussion Meet contest is an exercise in cooperative problem solving, designed to give participants experience in leading a group discussion and in chairing a committee. Participants will build basic discussion skills, develop a keen understanding of important agricultural issues and explore how groups can pool knowledge to reach consensus and solve problems.

The first round will be held at Ohio Farm Bureau’s Farm and Food Leadership Forum Dec. 2 at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus. The first round will determine the four finalists who will participate in the finals at the Ohio Farm Bureau Young Ag Professionals’ Leadership Conference Jan. 29 in Columbus.

Ohio’s winner will receive a $1,000 cash award from Nationwide Insurance, a Polaris Most Versatile Generator, expense paid trip to Ohio Farm Bureau’s annual meeting in December 2016 and an expense-paid trip to American Farm Bureau Federation’s annual meeting in Phoenix, January 2017.
