Miami County Bushels for Hunger program asks farmers to donate bushels of their wheat, corn or soybean crop to fight hunger. For each bushel donated at the Troy Elevator and Miami Valley Feed & Grain, the money the farmer would have received for the bushels is deposited into an account. At the end of the harvest season a check for the total amount raised by the project is written to a local food pantry.
This year the money will go to the following food pantries:
Bushels of soybeans ~ Southern Miami County Food Pantry
Bushels of Corn ~ Fletcher Food Pantry
Bushels of Wheat ~ Newton Food Pantry
