Toops named to Ohio’s Young Ag Professionals state committee

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Doug Toops of South Vienna has been named one of the new members of Ohio Farm Bureau’s Young Agricultural Professionals’ state committee.

As a committee member serving a two-year term, he will help develop and conduct activities that provide opportunities for young professionals to become involved in Ohio Farm Bureau programs.

Toops is a Clark County Farm Bureau member where he serves on the board of trustees as vice president. He has 75 acres of alfalfa hay and straw and 15 acres of soybeans. He owns Toops Custom Hay and Straw, Whiskybent Woodworking and is co-owner of Whiskybent Barbell. He also works full time as a foreman for KC Fencing and is involved in community activities such as the United Way Golf Outing and the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital Warrior Dash.

Others named to the state committee include Greg and Theresa Corcoran of Chillicothe, Eric and Shelly Prysi of New Philadelphia and Jennifer Wilson of Jenera.

Ohio Farm Bureau’s Young Agricultural Professionals program is open to individuals and couples between the ages of 18-35 who are interested in improving the business of agriculture, learning new ideas and developing leadership skills. To get involved contact Melinda Witten at [email protected].
