Over 200 people attended meeting concerning growing drug epidemic

Judge hosted community meeting in Cambridge on drug crisis

What is being called a hard-drug epidemic in this community was addressed in a forum Tuesday evening, October 27,  Courtroom A in the Cambridge Municipal Court Building, 150 Highland Ave.  Well over 200 people were in attendance.

Kathi Albertson, Guernsey County Farm Bureau Public Policy Action Team leader, said, “The increasing drug epidemic in the Guernsey County area was the topic of this special meeting open to all residents concerned about the growing number of reports of drug use and related deaths in the area as reported in the local media.”

Cambridge Municipal Court Judge John Mark Nicholson  shared his concerns about the rapid rise of offenses and the increased presence of dangerous drugs, including heroin in the area.
