Ohio’s state government with AgriPOWER Class VII

At the fourth session of AgriPOWER Institute Class VII state government was the focus. Participants heard from numerous state policy makers including state Sen. Bob Peterson, Supreme Court Justice Judi French, Ohio Department of Agriculture Director Dave Daniels and numerous other state representatives. Here are excerpts from participant blogs about the session.

Ultimately, being able to interact with leaders at the state level has given me a much better understanding of how our state government operates and how I can be a more effective leader within my community.Lara Staples writes about learning what state government and the people who run it are really like.

One of my favorite parts for this session was hanging out with the group after dinner on Thursday night. We talked about everything from LEGO to the new Star Wars movie to the attacks in Paris.Stephanie Leis blogged about the speakers from session 4 and their connection to agriculture.

Being a young farmer with young children, sometimes we get so caught up in the daily chores and homemaking that we do forget to spread our message. Senator Peterson is an eighth generation farmer in Fayette County and he is telling his story through his work in local government. How am I going to tell my story?Jenny Meyer of Bloomingburg discussed inspiration to share her story more.
