My name is Jake Bodimer of Gallipolis and I am currently in my second term as the Gallia County Farm Bureau President. I joined Farm Bureau in 2010, and became a board trustee in 2011. I have had the opportunity to participate in AgriPOWER, Young Ag Professionals Leadership Conference, President’s Trip to DC, served as a delegate at the Ohio Farm Bureau Annual Meeting, and played a key role in getting the Southeast Ohio Young Ag Professionals Committee started. I have also served as membership committee chairman and vice president on the board.
Outside of Farm Bureau, I work for Farm Credit, Mid-America as a financial services officer based out of Gallipolis. I own a small show pig operation, farrowing twice a year to sell pigs in the spring and fall for fairs and other shows.
I am a graduate from Ohio State University where I majored in animal science. I grew up in Gallia County where my family raised some tobacco and small vegetable crops. My real interest in agriculture came through my involvement in 4-H and FFA. I would like to get more young farmers involved in Farm Bureau.
