Big Data

Your help is needed on Big Data survey

American Farm Bureau is asking farmers to fill out a brief survey on Big Data as it works to identify the issues/concerns that are most important to members. The survey also is designed to raise farmers’ awareness about Big Data.

The objective of the survey is to help AFBF better understand changes in farmer attitudes about data since its first Big Data survey 1 ½ years. The last survey drew a response from nearly 3,400 farmers and their top concerns were:

  • Liability – In the case of a data breach, who is liable for my farm data? Can misuse of my data be used against me if not obtained legally?
  • Usage – How is my data being used by each company and who is it being shared with?
  • Privacy – Is my data anonymous so it cannot be traced back to my site- specific operation?

The survey takes about five minutes and those who participate can enter in a drawing to win a $500 Visa gift card.
