Hamilton County Farm Bureau spends day in Columbus at Ag Day at the Capital

On Feb. 9, a snow filled Tuesday, Farm Bureau members from every county in Ohio traveled to the state capital to participate in Ag Day at the Capital – a function where Ohio Farm Bureau members meet with Ohio legislatures to discuss important issues related to Ohio agriculture. Discussions included Ohio Farm Bureau’s 2016 Priority Issues which are: maintaining good Ohio water quality; taxation; the agricultural business climate; current agricultural use value (CAUV) program;  economic development;  renewal energy; quality of life issues like opiate addiction and legalized marijuana; and the continued importance of keeping the lines of communication open between Ohio Farm Bureau members and our political leaders.

Representatives from Hamilton County Farm Bureau who participated in Ag Day at the Capital were: Lou Schindler, President,  Ann Frederick, Vice President and Young Agricultural Professional Miranda Corbett from Diamond Oaks Equine Sciences and Management Program. While at the state capital, the Hamilton County Farm Bureau team met and exchanged ideas with two Ohio Senators: Bill Seitz and Cecil Thomas and seven Ohio Representatives: Louis Blessing III, Tom Brinkman, Jonathan Dever, Denise Driehaus Christie Bryant Kuhns, Alicia Reece and Louis Terhar.
