Ohio Farm Bureau and Bob Evans are partnering to support a trio of organizations that enhance education and experience of youth in agriculture.
Ohio Farm Bureau and Friends Days at Bob Evans restaurants throughout Ohio are set for May 16 and 17. The event is expected to be the largest community fundraiser program held in the history of Bob Evans Restaurants.
The goal of the fundraiser is to increase awareness of the importance of agriculture education programs supported by Ohio Farm Bureau, Ohio 4-H and Ohio FFA. To fulfill this goal, when you present this flyer, Bob Evans will donate 15 percent of sales May 16 and 17 to the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation, Ohio 4-H Foundation and Ohio FFA Foundation.
Farm Bureau members in conjunction with 4-H and FFA member families have the potential to work together to make a huge impact on the future of agriculture education programs in Ohio. Plan to “dine to make a difference” at any Ohio Bob Evans Restaurant on May 16 or 17. Carryout orders will also count toward the fundraiser. Bob Evans has 194 Ohio restaurants in 69 counties.
Eat great food. Support three great causes!
Youth education is an important focus for Ohio Farm Bureau programs. Following are just a few of the ways your membership dues are used to support this important effort.
Ohio State Fair Youth Reserve Program
Ohio Farm Bureau, Bob Evans, Event Marketing Strategies and Huffman’s Market invested more than $26,000 in the 2015 Ohio State Fair Sale of Champions last year by teaming up to purchase the Reserve Grand Champion barrow exhibited by Ashton Dominique from Fulton County. This investment also goes toward the Youth Reserve Program, which benefits contests, scholarships, 4-H, FFA and several other youth programs.
Protecting Career Tech Funding
Farm Bureau membership dues support efforts to protect state funding for critical agriculture education programs. Under a plan supported by Farm Bureau, in 2015 more than $125 million in state funding was targeted to rural low wealth districts in addition to millions more for schools with low property values and high transportation costs.
Programming for Young Adults
Ohio Farm Bureau’s vibrant Young Agricultural Professionals program continues to grow and offer opportunities for younger members. Additionally, Ohio Farm Bureau supports the Ohio Youth Capital Challenge program, collegiate Farm Bureau chapters, Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum and state fair ambassadors program. Members receive the Growing Our Generation e-newsletter, which is created by and for young farmers and ag professionals.
County Farm Bureau Support
Many county Farm Bureaus directly partner with and support local FFA and 4-H programs in their communities.
